NEIC in 2025

These past few months have been unprecedented in global history. The President of the United States has openly declared an intent to supersede the constitution, to annex sovereign territories of other nations, to abandon past promises and treaties, to arrest citizens and legal residents and imprison them in other nations without trial, to weaponize federal power against the states, and has done more to weaken American economic, military, and political power worldwide than any external enemy the country has ever seen.

Whether President Trump and his puppet masters in the Heritage Foundation and Silicon Valley make real their visions of a new America, the constitutional bureaucracy and liberal politicians manage to fight back and retake some temporary control, or the United States simply collapses under the stress, the New England Independence Campaign holds one thing to be clear: this nation is a sinking ship. What was once a beacon of democracy and freedom the world over has for decades now been corrupted into the very same kind of brutal tyrant we expelled from our shores two centuries ago, and as all empires do, it is now collapsing to internal strife, its greed incompatible with its ideals.

But New England stands apart. We’re ahead in education, in civil rights, and in quality of life. The four states with the lowest crime rates in the US are in New England, and the remaining two are still better than the national average. We’re 5 of the top 15 states by labor union membership, 4 of the top 10 in public health. We’re a global center in higher education and scientific research. New England on its own would be in the 20 largest economies in the world by GDP, higher than the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia. And what do we get for this success? New England pays more than four million dollars in federal taxes for every million we receive. Our federal tax deficit pays for welfare states like New Mexico, West Virginia, and Alaska, who consistently elect governments that refuse to take responsibility for their finances. Imagine what we could accomplish without that deficit.

Since November last fall, the NEIC has been hard at work. We organized the January 18th People’s March in Boston, with more than a dozen speakers, endorsements from multiple local unions, and table booths for organizations including the ACLU and Planned Parenthood. We’ve participated in protests and other events throughout New England, including sending a speaker to Boston’s March for Science. We’ve spoken up at town halls of state and federal representatives. We’ve doubled the size of our leadership team, and built a system for volunteers interested in helping this organization succeed. Online, we’ve set up a store for all your New England merchandise needs, we’ve made a YouTube channel and Bluesky account, and our social media following has skyrocketed.

We believe that what was once the heart of the American Revolution may beat again. That when we cast off the poisoned fruits of manifest destiny, return to our roots, and do precisely what the founding fathers expected of us—to reorganize this nation to suit both the changing times and the spirit of the Enlightenment—New England could once again be the shining city on a hill it was promised to be.

For the rest of this year, we’ll be doing even more. We’ve restarted our ‘Radio Free New England’ podcast, with our first episode available now. We’ll be volunteering with New England charities, and we’ll be lobbying state governments to give us better political representation. We’re improving our website and reorganizing our internal structure to better meet our growing membership. And, of course, we’re planning more in-person actions to get our message out there, establishing state chapters to better suit local grassroots work.

To make all of this happen, we need volunteers: the New England Independence Campaign is recruiting. There is an interest form for volunteers available on our website, under the ‘Get Active!’ tab. This movement needs the support of people like you to succeed. No matter how much you’re able to contribute, no matter what skills you bring, this is your chance to be a part of something bigger than yourself.

Get involved, and help show the world that New England is something special.
